TRIGGER WARNINGS: MENTIONS OF ABUSE, NEGLECT, SUICIDE

Born to Black Dragon Triad boss Xiahou Wei and his mistress Maria Kyle in Huntington Hospital in Los Angeles, California on March 15th, 1987. Left abandoned by her father, Selina and her mother lived for seven years in Gotham City Maria committed suicide.

Going from one foster home to the next, Selina suffered various amounts of physical and verbal abuse. She was set to attend Gotham U on a gymnastics scholarship until she was arrested for assaulting a police officer that was harassing 17 year old prostitute Holly Robinson. After being released, she reunited with Holly and took her under her wing, the both of them learning to fight for themselves.

After seeing footage of the Batman on TV, she became inspired to create a masked persona of her own. Through trial and error, she's become proficient at at safe-cracking, stealth, and hacking.

After stealing from Carmine Falcone, Selina returned home to find her apartment in disarray and Holly tied up in the bedroom, shaken but uninjured. Selina realized that her lifestyle was too dangerous and left the next day, leaving Holly $50,000 cash and a note reading "I'm sorry".

Now she lives alone, save her cats, and does what she can to survive in style.

WARNINGS

Triggers will be tagged but this blog will contain them regularly due to the nature of the character. Please let me know if I need to tag something. The tag format I use for trigger tags is 'trigger cw'. For posts that have unclear triggers I'll use 'content warning' as a catch all.

Selina lives in Gotham City and works as a thief for hire. She takes anyone on as a client, from criminals to CEOs, as long as they can pay, and avoids capture using her stealth skills (and her feminine wiles). Most interactions will take place in this verse.

Existing in the Marvel universe, Selina's backstory is the same except now takes place in New York City. After numerous arrests, Selina is contacted by S.H.I.E.L.D. and made an offer, her freedom for her services. She accepts. Now working as a professional spy and thief for one of the most powerful organizations in the world, she has more responsibility than she knows what to do with. Most (but not all) interactions with Marvel characters will take place in this verse.

Based on the Arkham games, taking place during the events of Arkham City. Selina, along with the other Gotham supercriminals, has been quarantined in a section of the city established as a prison by Dr. Hugo Strange. Between her fights with Two-Face, the TIGER security teams, and her brief excursions with Batman―she's just trying to survive.

May also be referred to as the Batfamily verse. After learning who the Batman is, Selina took some time to think about what she was doing with her life and her skills. She disappeared for a month and when she returned to Gotham it was the start of her career as a hero...or something like it. She doesn't always follow the laws, but she doesn't steal anymore either (well, not usually). She isn't dumb enough to think she can change the world, but maybe she can help, even if it's just a little. In this verse, Selina knows the secret identities of the Batfamily members.
